Throughout the whole Imane Khelif Olympics boxing fake-Fox-News debate, Walter Mosley must have been jumping up and down and shouting, “I told you this was coming, motherfuckers!”:
“Fera was so proficient [in boxing] that many said she was actually a man trying to make it by pretending to be a woman. The WUBA had performed DNA tests proving Fera’s gender (also disproving the theory that she was the product of a separatist test tube). But the public was not convinced by computer graphs and petri dishes.”
The one step we are missing is what was once considered (in more innocent times) the gender-affirming coup de grâce—porn:
“So Fera went on the X-rated people’s access vid show Behind Sammy Rosen’s Blue Door.” (pg. 29, “The Greatest,” Futureland, by Walter Mosley, 2001)
We have not made that transition to unabashed debauchery (yet) – Fox has not yet transitioned to a “hardcore sex channel,” a la The Simpsons, and perhaps those writers in the 90s and early Aughts would be surprised at the prudish backlash to mainstream prurience. I mean, you’d think the southern governor and criminal AG who got PornHub blocked in their state would get voted out… but whatever.
I guess we should have anticipated the Fox News audience would become more interested in catheters than carnality.
And Mosley was probably preoccupied with his even more prescient warnings about whiteboy tech bros and their use of transhumanism to hoard social goods and justify their not-so-latent eugenics predilections since his Doctor Kismet presages our beneficent tormentors Elon and Thiel.
