Peace in Gaza is an Absolute Good.

“I really want to celebrate the peace deal in Gaza. I mean, there is a ceasefire, lives are saved, hostages are to be released. All of that is an absolute good. Trump pushed the deal through, and he deserves credit for that, even though, on the whole, he is objectively terrible.”

“Yep, he is going to be intolerable. More so. We have a president who is a whiny little bitch, so we will be tempted to throw in some caveats. About how his 20-point plan is a copy of Biden’s original peace plan. About how Trump stepped up only after Netanyahu bombed Qatar, where Trump has business and who gifted him a plane. About his absolute indifference to the Palestinians in general and to the specific details of his own peace plan. But we have to resist that temptation. Peace is an absolute good, like the COVID vaccine, and we should celebrate that.”

“I can’t mention his sad little baby-fits about the Nobel Peace Prize?

“Nah. I mean, his desperation for Nobel affirmation is so pathetic, what more can you say? Trump is his own punchline.”

“And now we will hear him whine about it for another year. That sucks.”

“Absolutely. But let’s keep some perspective. We will endure a manbaby billionaire whining on his propaganda channel and impotently invading US cities he doesn’t like, while the people in Gaza are returning to bombed-out homes and obliterated infrastructure, and the first thing they’ll do is find and bury their dead friends and family members. Look at Gaza, and at South Sudan, and at the DRC, where people are still dying. We are still among the fortunate ones on this planet: we just have to do our best to stop Trump from destroying America with his incompetence and corruption and sending our next generation into that level of suffering.”

“Should they give the Nobel Peace Prize to him, just to shut him up and send him to bed?”

Trump is running the most powerful (for now) country in the world, and sure, he’s not very good at it, but he’s doing it by virtue of an electorate willing to give him a free pass on his insurrection and all his corruption, and he is making millions in the process. By all accounts, he is living a blessed life free of consequence, yet he fills his days whining and crying and bitching about petty grievances. Do you really think anything will shut him up?”
